As the son of a prolific sculptor and an avid art collector I was to creating and enjoying a broad variety of visual art. During my career as a chemist the creation of molecular forms with their intricate geometries became an alternative and challenging art form. Sculpting in wood with its infinite complexities of grain, color, density, and imperfections demands similar creative challenges.
My subjects are abstractions of human, animal, and natural forms and sometimes simply shapes inspired by mathematical functions. They are intended to inspire the imagination and are often seen as representing very different subjects.
