Linda Fleming

Internationally renowned artist Linda Fleming has a career spanning over 50 years. Her works have been displayed in museums and galleries around the world. In addition to being a working artist Fleming is an award winning professor of art, currently teaching at the California College of Arts and Crafts.

Fleming draws inspiration from the desert and mountain environments surrounding her studios in Colorado, Nevada, and California. Primarily a sculptor, she works in a variety of media such as steel, bronze, wood, rubber, felt and paper. Her signature style utilizes intricate patterns resembling lace, tendrils of smoke, or webs to create places of shadow and light.

In her own words her sculptures, “… are diagrams of thought that provide a glimpse of the strangeness beyond the everyday world; opening a place where thought becomes tangible, history leaves a trace, and information exhales form.”
