Currently
he is a tenured professor at Bellevue College, teaching sculpture and 3D design
in Bellevue WA. He studied for a MFA in Sculpture at the University of
Washington, 1979-81. He became a teacher of 3-dimensional design and drawing at
the Factory of Visual Art in Seattle, WA 1981-82, and taught welding, metal
fabrication and casting at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Seattle, 1982-84. His
works primarily focus on monumental pieces, but he later incorporated smaller
works with functional uses [ie. Door knobs, handles, etc.], and pieces that he
wanted to test his engineering capabilities on such as his “Keystone” series.
He has had shows in New York, Washington, Indiana, and various other locations
across the country, and has received awards at the “37th Annual Pacific
Northwest Arts and Crafts Fair” in Bellevue, WA, 1983, the “5th National Print
Exhibition, Los Angeles Print Society” Los Angeles, CA, 1977, and the “Indiana
Artists Traveling Exhibition” at the Indianapolis Art Museum in 1973-4. He has
been commissioned to do works for Moss Adams, Attorneys at Law in Bellevue, WA
1990, Cine-Nevada, Inc., Large-scale sculpture/ prop for Television, and a
series of works for "Northern Exposure" CBS 1990.
