Gareth grew up in northern Minnesota and was influenced by the artistic talents of his father & grandfather. He received formal training in art at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He spent a decade exploring Alaska and restoring historic works at the University of Alaska Museum. It is this involvement that provided the motivation to create sculptural art portraying the culture and spirit of the first people and wildlife of Alaska. Currently Gareth resides in the Iron Range of Minnesota with his wife and children.
